Why I picked it up: The cover was beautiful and it looked like the kind of story I might enjoy. Why I finished it: I became wrapped up in Mehrigul’s story and I was rooting for her on every page. I wanted her to be able to make enough vine baskets to sell to the American lady at the market. Mehrigul had to overcome so many obstacles and the author kept throwing more and more problems at her. I had to find out if she would persevere. (YA fiction)
