Royal Mail Line's SS Tweed. Built by Shipbuilding Corp. Tyne Branch, Newcastle for MOWT as SS Empire Lady. 7,046GRT, 4,747NRT, Length (overall) 446ft 4ins, beam 56ft 2ins & depth 35ft 2ins. Single screw powered by a triple expansion steam engine built by North East Marine gave 11Kts. Bought by Royal Mail in '46, renamed SS Tweed and remained in their service until scrapped at Newport in '59
